Inpainting
An AI image editing technique that fills in or replaces a masked or selected portion of an image using generative AI, seamlessly blending new content with the surrounding image.
What is Inpainting?
Inpainting allows selective editing of an image — replacing a background, removing an unwanted element, or adding props or context — without affecting the rest of the image. For product photography, inpainting enables background replacement, prop removal, shadow cleanup, and contextual element addition without reshooting. Modern AI inpainting (Stable Diffusion, DALL-E, Gemini) produces photorealistic results that are often indistinguishable from the original photograph.
E-Commerce Relevance
Inpainting is the core technology behind AI background replacement and product photo enhancement — allowing marketers to modify existing product photos without reshooting.
