What is ControlNet?
ControlNet addresses a major limitation of standard text-to-image AI: lack of spatial precision. Without ControlNet, telling AI 'product in the left third of the frame' produces inconsistent results. ControlNet accepts control signals — edge maps (exact product outline), pose skeletons (exact model pose), depth maps (3D spatial relationships), and semantic maps (which parts of the image are which type) — and constrains the generation to follow these spatial specifications precisely. For product photography: ControlNet enables consistent product placement across multiple generated images, model pose control for apparel, and precise spatial composition.
